Angels of the Warp is a quality over quantity mercenary faction focused on endgame political PvP.
Vision
Angels of the Warp’s will join the living history of Starbase as the most feared mercenary force in the game. We intend to be the first organization contacted for every war, skirmish, siege, or desperate defense of a strategic outpost. We will be present on every battlefield rallying our allies and terrifying our enemies. We are the leading edge to your enemy's destruction.
Structure
We realize that Starbase is a game, so while many groups will institute complex ranking structures and obnoxious protocol we avoid the inefficient bureaucracy. Angels of the Warp will keep the rankings as flat as possible both in combat and out. We aren't about milsim immersion we're about results, results come first always. Having a combat role does not guarantee a political role or vice versa. Below is a rough approximate of our various command roles that are subject to change.
Combat
Fleet Commander
Fleet Commanders are in charge of leading the fleet in engagements. When it comes to the battle the FC orchestrates the overarching actions for the entirety of the AotW forces. His orders are absolute but the execution of said orders is open to the interpretation of his sub-commanders.
Ship Commander
Commander of a large ship in charge of positioning of the ship, target priority of any turret gunners, and any other crewmen.
Wing Leader
Leader of a small squad of fighters he is in charge of their positioning, tactics, and target priorities.
Squad Leader
Leader of a small squad of marines he is in charge of their positioning and tactics.
Politics
Leader
Leaders of the faction they determine the political standing, direction, and finances of the faction. As demands increase more sub-roles maybe added to distribute leadership load.
Recruiter
Recruiters are members trusted with the ability to judge the ability and potential of potential recruits. Their purpose is to ensure that all of AotW's soldiers meet our standards.
Rules of Engagement
Angels of the Warp is at its heart focused on PvP and when you recruit wolves you have to let them hunt. So we are adopting a NBSI stance where as long as there is no alliance or contract then they are fair game to be attacked. We will not be firing on allies nor contract holders.
Recruitment
We are recruiting everything necessary to support our combat from front line soldiers and pilots to miners and ship designers.
Non-Combatants
You do not need to do any combat at all to join. Have you ever wanted to work with elite pilots to design the perfect fighter? Perfect, that's exactly what we're looking for. Everything our non-combatants do directly contributes to the victories we achieve whether that's helping with funding to the literal design of our war machines. What you do matters and we won't forget that.
Soldiers
To become a pilot or marine in AotW you have to satisfy one of our recruiters. While every player on the front lines doesn't have to be an elite they do have to be good enough to be relied on and contribute. Nothing is worse than not being able to trust the guy watching your back. So each pilot/marine will be vetted by our recruiters to ensure quality is kept up to our standards. We do allow specialists, you do not need to be good at everything. So if you want to be just a fighter pilot or bomber that's fine.
