Initial Theories

Initially theories suggested that it was an indication of the early access release for starbase and that it was to be held on the 12th of November 2019. This theory was quickly shot down by the developers. However, while many still claim that the number is just a mere coincidence, the image and the number '16' has, at that point, become part of the Starbase legend, often appearing in places that it shouldn't.

Continued Theorising

Due to the efforts of Night squad, the truth of the legend of '16' became more apparent. Eventually, the developers gave in, releasing all the information about 16 in the Day 19 Christmas Calendar post, finally coming clean with the truth of 16. Night Squad thus made it its quest to find hidden information, and learn of the mystical 'List'

Extended Conspiracy

Many true and less true findings have been found as time continues.

On the 5th of February 2020, again with the help of Night Squad, a secret video taken from the surface of one of the new moons was discovered, revealing yet more of the truth behind '16', and confirming the meaning of 'eaq2fsVawaY'

Further inference of 'eaq2fsVawaY' has been made by some who claim that the 'eaq2' portion refers to a quarter two release of Early Access, even going as far to state April the 16th, which happens to be in week 16 of 2020, as this release date. This rumor has not been confirmed.
