Summary
Within the galaxy, universal control set ups do not exist. As ships, turrets, and even doors can be controlled with buttons, levers, or tools, regulations that restrict the set up of controls would be impossible to implement.
Due to this, a variety of different controls and device binds exist in the galaxy. Standardized Civilian ships and Empire ships have unified controls, but no actual restrictions apply to ship construction or building.
Device controls are, however, configurable across all devices. A pilot can easily configure the controls of their ship and other nearby devices from the pilot chair via an interface.
The names of the devices nearby the currently occupied seat are displayed on the interface, and the active binds assigned are displayed next to them.
Switching between previously saved configurations is also possible on the same interface.
How device binds work?
Device binds are bound to pilot chairs.
These chairs scan and list all detected interactables near the chair.
The keybinds for these devices can then be changed through a device bind menu with the universal tool that allows manual input and even default bindset selection.
The keybind menu supports keypresses, holds, and even combinations.
