Specialist SP E-3 The rank of Specialist is achieved through retaining a Specialty Badge as a Crewman Advanced. This rank is meant to show a soldiers proficiency in a field. Though this is in the same pay grade as CRWA, SP should be treated as superior. Promotion from CRWA to SP is automatic once eligible.
