Will there be server wipes?

There will be one wipe at the launch of Early Access, after that no wipes are planned.

Will there be lootboxes?

No lootboxes or pay to win items. There may be small cosmetic in-app purchases, but that's not fully decided yet.

What are memory relays?

Memory relays are devices that can be used to link two device fields together, so that changes on one will propagate to the other.

How do I use cargo lock beams?

Cargo lock beams can only tow objects if there are three beams targeting the object from perpendicular angles.

How much power does a cargo lock beam require?

A single cargo lock beam requires a base power input of 5 e/s, plus an additional 0.002 e/s per kilogram of mass applied to the beam. An object's mass is equally distributed to each beam locking it in place.

How much volume can an ore cargo crate store?

Each modular ore cargo crate can store up to 1,728 kv of material.

How can I store materials in a cargo crate?

Cargo crates can be interacted with via a resource bridge attached to the pipe network that the crates are on.

Can cargo crates transfer material?

Yes. Cargo crates can move materials between other cargo crates on a shared pipe network.

Does each cargo crate require a cable or pipe connection?

No. Aligned cargo crates adjacent to one another will share access to the pipe and/or data networks that they are connected to.

What do resource bridges do?

Resource bridges allow transfer of resources - materials, propellant, or electricity - between two points. They provide access to cargo crates, and allow ships to connect to one another (or to stations) to refuel or transfer inventory.

How do I use a resource bridge?

You can use a resource bridge by pressing your interact button while looking at the bridge. If you wish to connect to another resource bridge (on a ship or station), you should then press your interact button while looking at that resource bridge. Alternatively, connecting to a resource bridge with a mining backpack equipped will allow the collection and transfer of mined materials.

How do I refuel my ship with a resource bridge?

You can connect your ship to a station or another ship's resource bridge by pressing your interact button on each resource bridge in sequence. The device fields on each resource bridge must be configured appropriately before transfer will be possible.

How can I refuel my ship from another ship?

  • Ship-to-ship refueling and recharging is possible if two ships are connected via a resource bridge, and both resource bridges are connected to the appropriate networks.
 - If the connection detects a propellant tank connected to the donor ship's resource bridge, only propellant transfer will be possible.
 - If there is no propellant tank connected to the donor ship's resource bridge, electricity transfer will be possible.

The recipient ship can receive either propellant or power, but not at the same time. Thus, to transfer each resource, the donor ship must have two resource bridges: One with a cable and pipe connection, and one with only a cable connection. To transfer resources, the device fields of the resource bridge(s) on the donor ship must be set as follows:

FlowIn is set to 0. FlowOut is set to 1.

.. While the recipient ship's resource bridge's device fields are set as follows:

FlowIn is set to 1. FlowOut is set to 0.

A single connection can transfer 50,000 propellant per second or 10,000 electricity per second. *

What do audio signal devices do?

Audio signal devices play a tone from a preset library, and can be used to create audio notifications, warning sirens, or even music boxes.

What do levers do?

Levers produce a sliding output value between their minima and maxima. They are most often used to control the force output of thrusters.

How can I add cruise mode to my ship?

You can implement cruise control into any ship by adjusting a lever's LeverCenteringSpeed device field to 0. This device field can be toggled via a button.

How do I power buttons?

Some buttons (eg: the small button) have a socket attached directly to them, which accepts a wire connection. Other buttons (eg: the hybrid button) must be placed onto a device with a modular interface, like a control table or panel base.

What are the differences between fcus?

Flight control units (FCU) differ from each other in the level of control that they allow. A basic FCU is blue, and allows forward, backward, pitch, yaw, and roll maneuvers. An advanced FCU is red, and adds lateral and vertical strafing maneuvers. A premium FCU is yellow, and adds functionality to coordinate complex combined maneuvering.

How do I use an mfc?

Main flight computers (MFC) coordinate the thrusters on a ship. You can add thrusters to their control by matching the name of a thruster's ThrusterState field to one of the MFC's device fields. You can also add groups of thrusters in a similar manner, but it's worth remembering that you will lose some fine control if you group thrusters that are too far apart.

How do I connect an fcu to an mfc?

You can connect an FCU and an MFC by matching the names of their FcuMfcIO fields.
