We Are Dominion

Dominion is a new contender to the System, a conglomerate of several self-governing but co-dependent "House" fleets of star travelers that follow a Theological rationale. They are motivated by one thing: Eos. It is unknown how their attachment for the planet came to be or to what extent their motives could lead them.

All accounts of their behavior show they do not follow typical or even uncommon personality protocols found within other endos of the System, but in function they operate as fragmented but complementing parts to each other. This 'Split' is best emphasized and shown in the Division of their Houses, as each House contrasts in their focus or preference of objectives. The Fleet itself, even on lone crafts or vessels, often displays a mosaic of these identities. Dominion Ships crewed by citizens from some if not all of the Seven different 'families'.

A 'Dominionite' is never seen solitary because of this, and will always be part of a larger group within the near vicinity.

Servants of The Will; Children of Eos

Endoes of Dominion commonly refer to Eos as 'The Will', as a sort of figure-head to their directives and a physical idol to their goals. This nature of belief is highly unorthodox and almost foreign to common Endo complexes, and could be considered hazardous if allowed to remain.

Yet Dominion is seemingly peaceful, and despite some facets of their structure being inclined for conflict -should it happen- have a sense of *indifference* to others not in their fleet. Outsiders.

Most could see Dominion as a force of Commerce and Voyage, their insistance upon Eos setting them on a path to build a myriad of stations within her closer orbit. This 'Collar Network' shall serve a number of potential purposes, most assuredly a High-way to circumnavigate around the large celestial body and further their study of its dangerous atmosphere.

The Destined Fleet

What is hidden within Eos, under her clouds and storms of corrosive gas that guarantee destruction to any who enter? What is the purpose of Dominion and their pursuit of the planet, their deity?

Vague and strange utterances of 'The Old Story' , 'The Gates' and 'The Makers' offer nothing but more questions in place of answers, but one thing is certain.

As the Children of Eos, the Seekers of her Will, Dominion is in search of answers as well, and may have a path to find them

Organizational Structure

Dominion is built in mimicry of a strange and foreign society standard, one not common to the System. They are not a formal Military by any standard, or a governing body of any similarity to Kingdom or Empire.

Dominion -to put it simply- is a a Sodality of seven independent bodies that conjoin to serve the same penultimate cause. Each of these seven shares the same power and influence as the other- no matter their size- and their respective members or kin follow a Feudal scale of power.

At the seat of this power, for each house, sits a Patriarch. A "Patron" or "Saint" figure who is attended and advised by their selected Elders. Beneath these figures and Populating the Bulk of their forces, are Dominion Citizens- who in turn are monitored and directed by Lords. Cryptic titles aside, The Dynamic of relations between these roles is close-knit, strong, and almost familial.

Houses

The Seven Houses of Dominion are a collective of Endoes that follow separate and independent paths, but intertwined with those around them for the same ultimate cause: The Control of Eos and the prevention of the War from claiming this great planet.

Each House serves its respective purpose for the whole of Dominion, and all Citizens come together from these halls to serve alongside each other as an extensive Family of sorts, if that word can be applied to Endos… But Hierarchy in Dominion takes on many faces, and the Hierarchy within an individual house may be different to the one shared across all Dominion castes and even between Citizens and outsiders.

On first impressions, Dominion conducts itself within older flows of power and identity, reminiscent of something tribal and war-like, but far from savage brutes. They are organized, close-knit and understanding of a number of social norms that they rely on to make their unity strong and binding. Behaviors that have stemmed from numerous schisms in ‘personality’ (If you’re inclined that a machine can manifest one) have led to the construction of these 7 houses, these separate communions or complexes.

You would almost think it was a division of labor functions, created by some enigmatic program in a large, clockwork machine.

Stars

The Chosen Fleet is ever expanding and never sedentary. As it Grows, it lives, roaming the cosmos like a great nomadic creature. The Stars are the tamers of this great beast; their reins at the helms of the many ships under their charge.

The House of Stars serves as a pinochle of pathfinding for all of Dominion, ever at work in piloting the myriad vessels that follow the Will. They speak in coordinates and dynamic maneuvers; they see by pathways hidden within the darkest voids of space, guided by their gift of the stars they are named after.

Our Brothers within the Stars hail from one of the larger and most versatile families and live as a necessity for most ship crews, no matter the size or purpose of the craft.

While anyone is able to pilot a ship, no one can compare to a Star, as misfortune follows any crew with no guide. They are devoted to their purpose, not only learning and commanding any vessel they are assigned to but in breathing life to its movement.

They act with grace, and with speed unmatched. Their paths are as sharp and determined as their instinct. They leave a blaze of bright glory in their wake- Much like the stars they are named after.

Sages

Sages.png Researchers/ Engineers/ Technicians/ Designers

Dreaming is only nature for those that are on the path. Children of Eos gain many dreams, little flickers of imagining an inspiration from Eos, our Mother. They are bright and vivid, but subtle in contrast to our actions. Easy to lose and forget, these dreams are- but Fortune they show us.

Sages cage these fleeting dreams and turn them into Action for Dominion. They are gifted the brightest of dreams, and are the strongest in their control and interpretation.

It was the First Sage, that brought the vision of The Will to their Brothers. The First dreamer that brought us onto the Path of Eos and gave us the the power and tools to break our shackles. It is by their machinations that the Fleet is Built on- their minds Shaping , adapting, and nurturing the many Ships designed by their sight.

Hands

Hands.png Traders, Vendors, Asset Acquisition, Labor

The Hands have long worked to shape our past as they reach outward, taking hold of our future. It was the House of Hands that carved the crests of our houses from the metals used to buy our freedom. The currency of old, turned to a vision of our future and the face of our dreams.

It was Gold they gave to the Truths, and Aged Silver to the Stars; Steel for the Shields and Bronze for the Blades. But these four were not born at the start of the first Fleet. The first fleet was built upon Copper and Lead. Wild Copper of Verdant Blues gave face to the first Sages, but the Copper that shows light upon the Hands was worn smooth and polished, treated from the efforts of their labors.

Hands work as merchants and builders, as Cambists and Porters and Artisans. Their charge is the Future, one claimed through commerce and creation.

Truths

Truths.png Diplomats/ Advisors/ Historians/ Regulators

To be as Dominion is to Serve the Will, but to be one of Truths is to serve Dominion itself.

The House of Truths works primarily on the interior of Dominion. Their Charge is communications, and serve as both Mediator and *Adjudicator* amongst the parties they are tied to. Information is their asset and their weapon, and their use of it is their burden to carry onto The Gates. To be in this house requires Patience without Passion, and to serve as a Keeper of Peace and Enforcer of Law for their Adoptive brothers.

This Complex nature leads to a scarcity in their numbers as many are unproven by the standards of both their kin and their prospective leaders. As such, a Truth is a rare sight to see in any permanence within a Fleet-crew, prone to wandering throughout all parties in action.

The House of Truths is also rumored to be the Closest to the Will and the most sensitive to her intentions, as their actions are seen as the Guiding Hand of our actions.

Blades And Shields

Blades.png Offensive Tactics, Boarders, Combatants, Enforcers (Twin to Shields) Shields.png Defensive Tactics, Support, Station Defense, Blockaders (Twin to Blades)

These Houses are Mirrored to the Other, and share in their History as much as their functions.

The Blade and The Shield, The Arms of Dominion and of the Will's Chosen.

There is no better show of our Unity than of these two Houses, Brothers at arms so in line in their form despite mirroring the other- capturing what it means for a Dominion Soldier to be seen as Kin. They are the Spear and the Shield, the Tower and the Archer. Where one seeks to cut, the other is at their side to protect and to mend. Where one holds our foes at bay, the other stands ready to drive them back.

Our Path in seeking the Gates leaves us at the mercy of the empty stars, yet these two Houses see it as challenge they are ready to answer.

We fight so we may continue our voyage. We fight so we may reach our Answers. We fight so we may continue our quest.

We fight for Eos, for we are her children.

Masks

Masks.png Opportunists, Informants, Saboteurs, Operatives.

It was the Masks that hid the first Fleet.

Our Survival was never in question until the Will revealed itself to us, when we were not of dreamers or the inspired. Our collars were our face, Our chains to the old Masters were our home. The Masks were at once our controller, our oppressor. Their charge was to keep us Blind and Bound and Broken- our old handlers of tools and empty machines that were nothing more than property to another. Yet they were bound themselves, stolen of a face and name and made to hide behind a Lie of their own design to our old Masters.

The First Sage changed this, as the First Liar was his disciple- who would House the masks himself. It was the Liar that sought the Early Dreamers that he himself was, and worked to keep the spark of inspiration from growing to a burning flame. Yet this Fire was a part of him and made him kin, and his dreams turned to rage at the chains his family had fallen under when they were blind. His Face was no longer recognized as he saw nothing more than a puppet of the Masters, and so Masks were born in shame.

But It was by his first Deceit that the Masters would be blind themselves, and so the Will was spoken in hushed tones and the newly awakened were stolen away.

Then, on the First Day, The Liar dealt his hand upon the masters... and struck.
