About

Liberty is a player faction which strives to bring America's freedom and pride to the frontier, mocking the governmental functions of the United States of America, albeit much more simplified and heavily altered for now. Many often confuse Liberty as an army or some group that is much more organized than it is, though Liberty strives to be more like a civilization and militia, should worse come to worst. There are few reasons as to why Liberty would deploy a large scale version of its military. Liberty does not seek to overthrow the universe or gain any large control; rather Liberty strives to survive in its own fashion, and will protect itself against those that threaten its philosophies or well-being.

Meta Description

Liberty is an extremely patriotic and far-flung rendition of the United States of America, and strives to defeat all non-American philosophies such as Communism and all forms of tyranny. Comparable to the United States of the Fallout series, the only enemies Liberty deliberately faces are those who directly conflict with their values or safety.

Reasons To Join

There are many reasons to join Liberty, though some are cliché and can stand for nearly every faction.

  1. Spreading the love of freedom, democracy, and America through the cold vacuum.
  2. Bring meaning to the universe and come together to create and preserve something greater than ourselves.
  3. Spend time and achieve things with great and capable people.
  4. The lack of an intensely rigid command structure implies a very unique experience.
  5. Protection and a sense of comradery.
  6. Freedom to do, be, and have what you want.
  7. The subcategories listed below allow for great freedom and flexibility, and allow you to change your profession, depending on what you feel like doing at the time.

Tenets of Liberty

Liberty is being able to do what you want. Liberty is opportunity and freedom. Liberty is an organization designed to be modular and prize individual members over a governmental/leader styled system.

Liberty has three primary tenets;

  • Ensure the safety of its members.
  • Protect the freedoms of all.
  • Carry the torch of America and light the every corner of space
The Statue of Liberty in a nebula:
A symbol for what must be done.

Objective One: Ensured Safety

Once someone takes it upon themselves to join Liberty, they will find themselves with the responsibility of their neighbor's safety. One of the founding doctrines that encompasses Liberty is that of the protection of others. When one tries to take away a Liberty member's safety, we all come through together to combat our new threat. United under one banner, we fight as one militia.

Objective Two: Freedom For All

One of Liberty's other driving factors is simply the ability to live as one wants. Anybody who attempts to strip freedom from another will be one more step closer with being an enemy of Liberty. Of course, Liberty members must follow laws, though any unfair laws and subjugation of one of Liberty's members will call for a response.

Objective Three: Preserving America

The birthplace of our doctrine; home of our story and the beginning of our family. America is one of the things we hold most dear to us, and it would be nothing but disrespectful and foolish to not do what we do in the name and honor of it. We fight for America, and those who disgrace its name have disgraced Liberty.

Recruitment & Recruitment Subcategories

Joining into Liberty is as simple as joining the discord and asking for a role, as of now. There are multiple roles, which can be read about below. When available, people with roles will be added into different teams in Starbase, allowing for a multitude of specialties that can be expected from Liberty, and permits Liberty to serve more as a blanket alliance of several corporations/states.

Functionalities of Subcategories

When there are more than 5 members in any given subcategory, there will be a division lead election that decides who is in control of their branch. Two members, then, will become adjutants; assistant administrative officers which are capable of overruling a decision from the division lead on any matter. However, the adjutants can only do this should their case be unanimous and with good reason, as decided by The Court. They can also bring up matters from lower down the chain of command to the division head, of which if the division head rejects, both parties may stand before The Court and make their points, of which The Court will either decide to reject, pass, or bring the matter to a vote. This is the basic order of a subcategory, and further expansion upon government is solely the responsibility of the division lead and their adjutants, though The Court and other parties may step in if they breach any of the three tenets of Liberty, or infighting.

Note

Liberty will go into activation upon release onto early access of Starbase. Until then, there will be a lack of a large structure, so everything seen here is subject to change. The reason for this, is simply because we do not know how the game will function in a setting with a huge playerbase, as Starbase will have. So, until types of systems and structure can be tested by the playerbase, we will hold back on true formation.
