Summary

Resource Port.png

The resource port allows the player to connect to, and interact with, the inventory of Modular ore cargo crates.

The resource bridge is used to connect a ship to a refuel station or to other ships, for refilling propellant tanks and batteries, and for connection to ore towers.

Conection to a resource bridge is necersary for the use of the mining backpack.

Basic information

  • Connected to modular ore cargo crates, propellant tanks and batteries via Pipe networks and Data networks.
  • Allows the player to access the inventory of the connected ore cargo crates, ore cubes can be dropped in the world, or at a station they can be moved to station storage.
    • Ore cubes can only be picked up if the player is conected to ore cargo crates through the resource port.
  • Allows for connecting the ship to an ore tower or refuel station's resource bridge, for selling ores or refueling.
  • Allows for ship to ship refueling.

Interaction

When interacted with the resource bridge will show a conection as a glowing yellow strand, the conection will disconect if the player moves too far from the resource port (100m).

The resource port allows access to the user interface for ore cargo crates, each cargo crate is represented as an inventory slot in any interface they are shown.

Ship to ship refueling

Both propellant tanks and batteries need to be connected via a resource bridge.

  • If the connection detects a propellant tank in the sending network, only propellant transfer is possible.
  • If there is no propellant tank detected in the sending network, electricity transfer is possible.
  • The receiving resource bridge can receive either propellant or power, but not at the same time.

Thus, to refuel each resource, the sending ship can have two resource bridges: one with cable and pipe connection and one with only cable connection.

  • To receive resources from another ship FlowIn is set to 1 and FlowOut is set to 0.
  • To send resources to another ship FlowIn is set to 0 and FlowOut is set to 1.

A single conection can transfer 50 000 propellant per second or 1000 electricity per second.
