Mission statement

The Arbiter's Ambition is a meritocratic syndicate, currently organised into flexible and modular Companies:

  • Balance Core Private Contracting
  • Symmachian Shipworks
  • Jefe Construction

The Ambition’s aim is to progressively develop into an affluent militaristic, diplomatic and economic entity that is committed to influencing and regulating the course of Starbase's cumulative history. It dedicates itself to make a lasting mark on the game's universe and to direct its diplomatic and political landscape to take compelling courses.

History and development

On the 9th of July 2019, the Symmachian Syndicate was founded by members of the current Ambition's Administration. After time, the Symmachian Syndicate split up into two factions in an effort to find a different approach to leadership. One group decided to focus on the Syndicate's original ideologies, which resulted in the creation of the Arbiters' Ambition. The other kept the Symmachian Syndicates aspired playstyle, which ended up as the German-only faction Zer0³.

After the split, months were spent developing a consistent, reliable internal structure that is catered specifically to the needs of the Ambition and is hoped to provide an efficient organization that can last for years to come. Only after this structure was fully defined and internal infrastructure prepared, the faction went public and started recruitment efforts on the 11th of February 2020.

Faction structure

The Ambition sports a unique and flexible rank structure that allows for its members to work in a decentralised yet organised manner:

  • Patriarch: Faction Head — Ambition supervisor and chief diplomat
  • Captain: Senior officers — Family heads and Administration members.
  • Lieutenant: Faction officers — Unit leaders.
  • Specialists: Highly specialised and experienced members.
  • Member: Fully initiated and trusted Arbiters. Can be promoted to either Lieutenant or Specialist depending on preference.
  • Initiate: New and unconfirmed members in training.

Furthermore, there are a few distinct elements that the Ambition utilises. These are the primary tools used to structure the community and enable the faction to operate in its decentralised manner.

  • The Administration: The leadership council of the Ambition, they make decisions and set goals for the entire faction. These are comprised of the Patriarch and the Captains.
  • Families: Where a business has departments, the closest thing the Ambition has to offer are its Families. The overall groups that every member belongs to, each specialized based on their strengths, but ultimately independent in their nature.
  • Units: Akin to military-style squads, Units are led by a Lieutenant. These Units are small, focused groups that provide the primary means to decentralise workloads for the faction.
  • Ranks: An efficient group needs to be efficiently managed. As a group with meritocratic values, the Ambition rewards players that exhibit effort and give them the opportunity to lead within the faction. By taking over a leadership role within their own Units and Sections, dedicated players can expect to be at the helm of change within the Arbiter’s Ambition.
  • Merit: We highly value participation and dedication. As such, the Ambition aims to incentivise and reward members for their efforts. The more you bring yourself in, the more the Ambition will give you the means to grow yourself and those working with you.

Business

What does the Arbiters' Ambition do?

By principle, the Ambition is open to anything. However, the offers that the Ambition accepts will always depends on the current political landscape and its existing obligations. There are, however, certain activities the Ambition will usually be open to, regardless:

  • Trade: The buying and selling of resources and/or ships.
  • Services & Commissions: Building ships, setting up factories/outputs, etc.
  • Agreements: Forming more permanent relations with the Ambition.
  • Mediation: Mediating between factions in a large conflict or between members/parts of a faction.
  • Cooperative Operations: Joint assaults, training sessions, influencing markets, etc.

The Ambition's Diplomatic Statuses

  • Open: The regular status the Ambition is in where it is open to anything.
  • Locked: A state where all requests are denied unless they directly support an imminent project.
  • In action: The Ambition is actively partaking in a project. Any requests that don't help this project to progress will be denied

Currently, the Ambition is Open.
