Arcforge Industries
Arcforge Industries is a Member's First™ Corporate Entity. This means that while it adopts a Corporate structure for its handling of finances and daily operations, its end goal is not maximum profit or squeezing out the competition. Rather, it's primary focus is on the well-being and happiness of its members and their general satisfaction. To this end, Arcforge has several distinct groups inside of it, or Cores, that make up the whole function of the Corporation. This ensures that players can find and integrate with any group that best suits their needs, be it Mining, Trading, or Mercenary work, among others. Players will not be forced to only engage in a singular Core, however, and fluid operations are encouraged. This means players may have a group they interact with primarily, such as Mining, but can transfer over to operating in the Mercenary group for a time as they wish.
Goals and Outcomes
While Arcforge Industries operates a 'front' if you will of legal and above-board operations through its Cores, Arcforge is at its very heart a Pirate entity. This means that its goals and desires are disruptions of normal markets and operations of other factions and guilds, and to profit off of these interactions. The Goal of the Cores is to provide a backbone of legal funding and support for the 'less-than-legal' operations that Arcforge dabbles in. While the Cores will operate with fleets and ships of various designs and purposes, they will be in Company Colors. But when Arcforge operates its illicit pirate missions, ships of neutral colors and untraceable transponders will be used to shield the Corporation from liability. Not all members will be expected to partake in the pirate operations if they don't wish to. Again, Arcforge is a Member's First™ entity and seeks their utmost satisfaction first. So if a member desires to only interact in a legal Core, then that is their choice and the Company will support and fuel that member!

How are members rewarded?
During the run of Closed Alpha and the beginning parts of Early Access, Arcforge Industries will run experiments on how to handle player rewards in Starbase. One goal to try will be 'corporate socialism' where all ownership of materials, ships, tools, and assets is held by the Corporation only, and all member's activity will be funneled into this pool. The Central Council will determine how to effectively disseminate this pool of assets to ensure that players have access to the items and ships they need to achieve fulfillment. The main idea behind this experiment is to prove that Members benefit best from a pool of resources and aren't expected to fund their own goals and desires while operating in the Company. Payouts will be considered to be given to Members who choose to leave the Corporation to ensure that they are rewarded for their service and not left with nothing if they choose to leave. Further structuring of payouts and rewards will be further iterated on as the experiment continues.
The other experiment to attempt is a classical Corporate structure where wages are paid to Members for services rendered. Not much extra explanation is needed here. It is expected that this setup will result in lower satisfaction as Members will be more worried about losing the potential of a wage based on their outcomes or their group outcomes and promote negative qualities such as jealousy and dissatisfaction, instead of enjoying their time and ensuring their activities do not become a simple trade of time for gold.
The expected outcome of these experiments is that players will find better fulfillment and satisfaction under the first of these ideas, given that the Company will be directly investing in their success and enabling them to achieve their goals. Because the total income of the Company will not be fractured by paying wages, a greater pool of funds will be available for all the players of the Company to utilize. However, neither method of operation is set in stone at this point, and Member feedback during the experiments will determine the outcomes and finalized structures. Regardless of which approach is taken, the utmost satisfaction of Members is still the primary goal.
