About

Oz is has a democratic government. The president is elected by the citizens but as a precaution, TrashaPanda holds supreme power over everything. This is done to make sure Oz stays operational and on the right path. People have expressed concern that this would basically be a dictator but TrashaPanda ensures that he is "incorruptible" and shall not abuse this. The nation of Oz has a main goal of becoming a super power in the Starbase universe and set the standard for citizenship freedoms and rights and quality of life.

Operation Oz

Operation Oz is the name given to the plan to found the first city of Oz on the moon. This city will be deemed the capital unless a more suitable planet is discovered. The city will contain multiple different districts that are specific to the different needs of the city. Those being, commercial, manufacturing, government, residential, military, and hangars for civilian ships. They have big plans for underground hangars to save space and provide a safe area for ships in the event of an attack. It is also rumored that all buildings will have secret subterranean tunnels that connect to various bunkers in the event of a massive attack. The city will not be operational (pun intended) for quite sometime as many things need to be accomplished before hand.

Residential District

Citizens will be able to rent dwellings from two tiers of apartments. Those being cheaper but smaller apartments, and pricier but much bigger living spaces. Citizens that live in the city will not pay taxes as their rent is paid to the government.

Commercial District

Citizens will also be able to apply for business permits. Business permits if approved will carry a one time fee and the business will have to pay the rent on its space. Taxes will not be paid by the citizens but rather, when other factions and nations set up businesses, they are to pay a profits tax in addition to the permit fee and lot rent. The tax is suspected to be between 5% and 10%.

Manufacturing District

Manufacturing plants will also be set up and act as the main income of the nation. Citizens can work at the manufacturing plants for compensation. Businesses can purchase product in bulk from the manufacturing plants at a discounted rate to sell in their businesses or use in their products. The manufacturing district will be Space Train compatible and have large areas dedicated to massive cargo ships to unload and pick up goods or drop off raw materials. Forklifts have been designed to assist in loading and unloading shipping containers.

Government District

This district will be dedicated to the government buildings such as the city hall, jails and courts, new citizen centers (for people who wish to become a citizen), and emergency services.

Military District

This district will be devoted to the training of soldiers and storage of ships. A building will be constructed to provide a place for citizens to go to join the military.

Subterranean Hangars

A key and vital feature of Oz, will be it's subterranean hangars. This will be a place for all citizens to be able to dock their ships in a safe area while they spend their time in the city. Visitors will also a dedicated area for their ships to park while they visit the city.
