|Framerate summary = Generally somewhere around 100 and 200FPS. In places like the marketplace at Origin it can drop down to around 60 but it rarely goes below that. Changing the Settings doesn't affect my framerate much if at all. At 4K the game still runs just at >60FPS. | |Framerate summary = Generally somewhere around 100 and 200FPS. |Other thoughts = The framerate is all over the place. There are places where you can walk five steps to go from >60 to <30FPS. I would consider my hardware to be beyond overkill for playing the game at 1080p. It would be more appropriate for high refresh rate gaming at 1440p and above. Especially with more optimizations in the places where the performance tanks independently from your hardware. | |Other thoughts = The framerate is all over the place. Revision as of 05:33, 11 June 2021
The purpose of this page is to collect information from our Early Access players on how well the game runs on various systems. This information will help other players who are wondering if "X" is good enough for the game. Please feel free to add your notes here!
Official system requirements
Check out the System requirements page for the official minimum and recommend system specifications and notes. We're transcluding them here as well but the page itself also contains some helpful notes on operating systems and Linux/Mac support.
Minimum system requirements for Starbase (Early Access):
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 / Intel i7
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB / AMD Radeon RX 480 4 GB
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection required
- Storage: 40 GB available space (SSD recommended)
- Additional Notes: The game requires an Internet connection to play.
Recommended system requirements for Starbase (Early Access):
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 / Intel i7-6700k
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11 GB / AMD Radeon RX 5700 8 GB
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 40 GB available space, SSD storage drive highly recommended for smoother loading times.
- Additional Notes: The game requires an Internet connection to play.
Community tips and tricks
This part should probably be moved to its own page eventually, but in its initial stage can live here.
Render Resolution Scale
Check %APPDATA%\Starbase\options.txt for RenderResolutionscale option:
setOption(rendererModule, "RenderResolutionScale", 1)
Change 1 to e.g. "0.5" to let the game render at 50% resolution while keeping the user interface at the normal resolution.
Community template
You can use this template to add your info:
{{System_Performance_Report |User = |Date = |CPU = |RAM = |GPU = |VRAM = |Other = |Used settings = |Framerate summary = |Other thoughts = }}
Please list your entry under a heading for the graphics card, as that's usually the most important single part in a computer for games.
Early Access notes from the community
