All objects consist of certain material or materials. 
Based on the material composition of the object, materials give them special properties. 
These properties include:

If you completed the one of the two surveys that was posted(about closed alpha), FrozenByte will have your E-mail address. That means that you should check your mail box. Don't forget to cycle between your accounts if you have multiple.

Not really. Someone think that keys are bound to SteamID owner. Btw, steamID is asked in survey, so that might be close to the truth.

Yes. To prevent that, don't break an embargo.
